Ann Elizabeth Carson, poet, writer, sculptor, feminist. Previously a psychotherapist and counsellor/instructor at York University, Ann now writes, paints, and sculpts in Toronto and Manitoulin Island. She enjoys reading from her work, especially at multi-media events with artists and musicians, and leads workshops on how the arts allow us to see ourselves and the world in new ways.

Poetry and non-fiction: Shadows Light (Longboat, 2005), My Grandmother's Hair (Edgar Kent, 2006, Dundurn, 2010), Risks of Remembrance (Words Indeed, 2010), and We All Become Stories: Make Yours a Good One (recently completed).

“Ann's poems reveal the intensity of living fully in the present with an awareness of how time threads through the experiences of body, mind and spirit. Her strong sense of place and passionate observation of the natural world permit a rich and lyric exploration of change that draws in and changes the reader.”
